Abstract
The team word is often heard in our daily life – we use it and know we are part of such structure. Many of us can say that they have been part of a team – at school, by being part of a football team, at work. By the perspective of the contemporary business, operating in an intensive competition and dynamic environment, there is a factor considered stable which plays a key role when defining the level of success, development, market share, innovations, etc. The above mentioned key factor is the team which is an essential part of all organizations. The current article aims to present the teams’ essence as a key structural unit with its typical roles, goals setting, performance and business results. If the team members are chosen appropriately and have their roles and goals well defined these are all reasons for achieving efficiency and good results. If reviewed separately, the particular team members, being part of a team could bring and enhance their professional satisfaction and recognition of the personal goals with the organizational ones turning this process in a sustainable competitive advantage.
